Very few experts recommend more than a 48-hour period of decreased activity or bed rest. In other words, get up and get moving to the extent you can.

Jüni et al found that the addition of spinal manipulative therapy to standard care is unlikely to result in relevant early pain reduction in patients with acute LBP. Small initial differences in analgesic use diminished over time.
